Torrey Pines Crowd and Culture
Like most spots in our
area there is always a slight feel of localism in the water.
Just north of the beach is Del Mar where many hardcore
surfer's reside. Torrey Pines is a top quality wave and
we're sure that you'll find a few guys that want to make it
their very own surf spot. On the contrary, since this is
such a open and well known surf spot, you'll notice that a
lot of the people in the water aren't locals at all but just
surfers looking for that great ride.
Localism does tend to increase slightly as you get closer to
the River mouth due to the fact that is one of the better
waves along this particular stretch of beach. Keep a good
attitude and abide by the rules of surfing and everything
should be fine while you're out surfing Torrey Pines.
