South Ponto Reef and Surf
The
Reef:
There aren't too many
hazards under the water at South Ponto, mostly sand and some
rocks as you get closer to the jetties and water opening.
The jetties are the major cause of concern due to the fact
that there can be some large rip currents and undertow right
there so please exercise your best judgment while out
surfing South Ponto.
The
Surf:
Best
Tide: Low to Medium tides.
Best
Swell Directing: West and South West swells are what can
get these jetties firing.
Best
Winds: No wind is best but if any, a East wind will do
wonders.
Best
Size: Anywhere from 2 - 6 feet can lead to ideal surf.
Best
Months to Catch it Going Off: The summer months are you
best bet to catch some epic South ponto.
