Located right in the
middle of Downtown Del Mar, Powerhouse beach and surf spot
has just about everything to offer that surfers and beach
goers could ask for. White sandy beaches, clean of clutter
and trash and a park to spend the day at. This really is a
all in one stop for a very nice day at the beach with family
and friends.
Powerhouse is located
right in the middle of all the easy coastal access points
from 29th Street to 4th Street. It's a quick turn off of Old
Highway 101 to the parking lots and beach access.
Location:
Right on 15th Street in
Downtown Del Mar. Impossible to miss and very easy to find,
Powerhouse isn't an adventure to access by any means.

The Parking Scenario:
Parking at Powerhouse surf
spot consists of meter parking and a couple of varied pay
parking lots around the main beach entrance. The convenience
of the paid parking definitely has some major benefits,
however if you are looking for free parking. Look North and
South of the beach entrance for some street parking.
On a hot summer day, your
best bet will to be to suck it up and pay the cash and not
have to hike to get in the water.

Beach Accessibility and Conveniences:
Beach access is located to
the North and South of the grass park and consists of paved
walkway down to the sand.
The walkway down to
Powerhouse Beach
Powerhouse surf spot also offers a shower
that is very clean and well maintained. The restrooms are
also located near the shower and the club house.
Lifeguard:
Lifeguard towers can be
found to the North and South of the main beach at Powerhouse
and are fully functioning during the Summer months.
Please take note that
there are designated "Black Balled," areas for surfing and
swimming during the Summer Months. The lifeguards will
enforce these rules and will make you walk or paddle your
way out of the marked swimming areas.
