Oceanside Boulevard Surf Spot
There are a lot of beaches
in Oceanside and with that comes a lot of surfers and even
though there are a lot of surfers trying to get waves, the
possibility of finding one of these sandbars going off is
very good! A lot of these breaks have very different types
of waves and every one of them can be fun in their own way.

down Oceanside Boulevard
Location:
Oceanside is the most
Northern point in San Diego to get into some surf. It is
located just South of Camp Pendleton and just North of
Carlsbad. Oceanside spans about 10 miles of coastline and
most of those miles have beach access easily located if
cruising the coast.

The Parking Scenario:
Parking for the beach
access at Oceanside Blvd is located on the nearby streets
and alleys. During the Summer months, the parking on these
small streets can become very chaotic and crowded so I
recommend to save the time and just park a few blocks away
and walk, in the long run, it will save you some time and
frustration.
Please take caution when
parking and make sure not to block somebody's driveway or to
get stuck parking in a Fire Lane. Police officers routinely
are in the area and will not hesitate to cite you for doing
so. Other then that, find a spot and hit the surf!

*Please Note:
Oceanside has come a long way in the past few years but
these streets and beaches are not the place to leave a
vehicle unlocked or a surfboard alone on the beach. Theft
and vandalism is still around in these areas so be sure to
take caution of your surroundings and lock your stuff up!
Beach Accessibility and Conveniences:
The beach access is impossible to miss with it being directly
in front of Oceanside Boulevard. The path down to the beach is well
maintained and easy to walk down. There are no stairs or cliffs to hike down
which makes this beach very open to a day at the beach with the family.

There are no restrooms
located on the beach or directly near to the beach at
Oceanside Blvd so prepare for that situation. I found the
closest restrooms to be about two blocks away in a nearby
liquor store. It can be an inconvenience and if a restroom
is a must for the wife, girlfriend or family, head up to the
Pier where restrooms are plentiful. Although there is no
restroom located at Oceanside Boulevard, they have an
awesome shower that feels awesome after a long session of
surfing.

Lifeguard:
There is a lifeguard tower
right on the path as you are walking down to the beach, in
fact you can see it in the above picture. These lifeguard
towers are open an operating all throughout the Summer
months but are only open occasionally in the Winter months.
Make sure to take note if
a lifeguard is manning the tower or not and take caution
either way. The waves at Oceanside can tend to be larger
then surrounding locations because the Oceanside beaches are
so open to different swell directions.
