Directions to South Carlsbad Surf
Spot
From the North:
-
Take the I-5 SOUTH.
-
Exit Palomar Airport
Road.
-
Turn RIGHT so you are
heading WEST.
-
Merge into the LEFT
lanes as the LEFT lane is the only lane that continues
over the bridge to the beach.

As you go over the
bridge and see the ocean, you will see a turn off to
your RIGHT that loops around. Take this loop and
continue it around so you begin to head SOUTH on Old
Highway 101.

When you come to the
first light on Old Highway 101, you can see the first
parking lot. You can either park there or continue SOUTH
for about a mile and park at the larger parking lot.
From the South:
-
Take the I-5 NORTH.
-
Exit Palomar Airport
Road.
-
Turn LEFT so you are
heading WEST.

Merge into the LEFT
lanes as the LEFT lane is the only lane that continues
over the bridge to the beach.

bridge and see the ocean, you will see a turn off to

From Inland North
County:

Take the 78 WEST.

Take the I-5 SOUTH.

Exit Palomar Airport

Turn RIGHT so you are heading WEST.

over the bridge to the beach.

*Please note: There a lot of
different ways to reach this spot by using side roads and other highways.
It’s all a matter of preference and accessibility. I've found these to be
the easiest and least confusing of the bunch. Enjoy!
